Golden Dragon Parade in Los Angeles
In honor of the Chinese New Year, the Los Angeles Chinese Chamber of Commerce sponsors an annual parade that's been held in Los Angeles for over 110 years. It's a real crowd-pleaser, with large floats, government officials, dignitaries, celebrities and paparazzi. In Asian cultures, it's the most celebrated day of the year.

Whiskey Flats Days in Kernville
This popular reenactment of the Gold Rush days in Lake Isabella, California brings to life an Indian village and a western mining camp, with historical accuracy and live demonstrations of leather work, mining and various entertaining shows, vendors and children's activities. This free event is an entertaining way to learn more about the lives of the sturdy pioneers that lived in the area. The event also features concerts, music and home arts as well as dramatic reenactments.
