Sutter's Fort State Historic Park

California State Railroad Museum

The California State Railroad Museum is vast and spans more than 100,000 square feet. This museum is notable for being the largest railway museum on the planet. The museum displays more than 20 restored railway coaches and locomotives, many wagons, and more than 40 other relics and artifacts of railway history. This museum is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the Sacramento area and provides great fun and educational value for the entire family.

California State Capitol Museum

The California State Capitol Museum is a wonderful way to get a glimpse of the state's past. The museum consists of seven historic rooms from the Old Capitol, with decorations and furniture that authentically depict styles of the early 20th century. Apart from the museum, check out the actual State Capitol building, with its neoclassical style and colorful, vibrant gardens.

Waterworld USA

Waterworld USA is a vast water park in Sacramento. With more than 30 rides and attractions, including Cliffhanger, Tornado, the Big Kahuna and Typhoon Slide Complex, this is an excellent place for the entire family to have a fun and an energetic day. Spend some time in Wild Water Kingdom, which is a refreshing place to splash and have fun in the water (specifically 20,000 gallons of it). This is a particularly good tourist attraction for families with children.
