Whitewater Challengers

Whitewater Challengers (see Resources) offers easy rafting to exhilarating challenges maneuvering through the rapids in your choice of a number of rivers in the Poconos. Whitewater Challengers has family-friendly activities and offers guided tours according to all ages and abilities. The center is open between April and October, and offers discounts for members of AARP, AAA, groups and motor coaches, under 12, military, seniors and students.

Jack Frost Big Boulder Pocono Resort

Jack Frost Big Boulder Pocono resort (see Resources) offers a seasonal winter wonderland opportunity to play in the snow, whether it's on the bunny slopes or the more challenging ski runs. Spring skiing takes place on weekends only at the end of March. The center opens between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., and Snowpasses are available at $28 each.

Bushkill Falls

Considered the "Niagara Falls" of Pennsylvania, Bushkill Falls (see Resources) since it opened in 1904 consists of eight waterfalls with the magnificent main 100-foot waterfall being the "little Niagara" tucked away in the Pocono woods. Hike the network of trails, stopping at the bridges to take photographs and admire the majestic views. After an invigorating hike, relax and view the Wildlife and Native American Exhibits. Go fishing at Twin Lakes or hire a paddleboat. After your fun-filled day, stop at the Gift Shop or the Fudge Kitchen for some sweet and tasty treats to take home.

Claws 'N' Paws Wild Animal Park

Claws 'N' Paws Wild Animal Park in the heart of the beautiful Pocono Mountains and has on display 120 species of wild animals, including giraffes, parrots and tigers for your educational enjoyment. The wild animal park is open May through October, and yearly passes are available for purchase. Parties of 15 or more get a group discount.
