Perrysburg is a suburb of Toledo, Ohio. The city runs along the Maumee River and it has the largest population in Wood County. If you are planning to spend some time in Perrysburg, there are plenty of fun, educational and interesting things to do while you are are there.
Fort Meigs
Fort Meigs was constructed during the War of 1812 as a fortification along the Maumee River banks. The battlefield is now a reconstructed fort as well as a museum. Part of the Ohio historical society, Fort Meigs provides exciting interactive exhibitions. There are guided tours available of this historical attraction. There are four different sections of the museum: Conflict, Era, Understanding and Remembrance.

Maumee River
The Maumee River originates in Fort Wayne, Indiana and runs straight through Perrysburg (and then finally ending up in Lake Erie). This historic river is an excellent site for various recreational activities like fishing. Other fun activities that visitors can do alongside the Maumee River are yachting, camping and boating. This is a great natural site to relax and have fun while in Perrysburg.
Woodlands Park
Woodlands Park in Perrysburg is another great site for outdoor recreation. One of the most interesting parts of Woodlands Park is Fort Imagination which is a playground that was constructed in 1997. The park is full of lovely gardens (be sure to check out the Japanese gardens) and is a great place to go fly a kite, or a have a picnic. If you like trees, Woodlands Park is home to the serene "Avenue of Trees" which goes along the walking path.

Three Meadows Pond
The Three Meadows Pond in Perrysburg is a pleasant place where people can enjoy the wonders of being outdoors while engaging in fun activities including boating, picnicking (there are many picnic tables) and fishing. Three Meadows Pond is particularly interesting for people who like fishing as the pond is full of native species of fish. Catch and release fishing is permitted at the pond.

Hood Park
Hood Park is part of historic Perrysburg and although tiny in size, is home to a Civil War soldiers and sailors monument. Not only is the park home to an important American historical monument, it has a very tranquil and relaxed appearance. The grounds include planted flowers, trees and shrubs, including a massive blue spruce tree that was planted in 1976 at the park's entrance. This is also the location official Perrysburg town Christmas tree. Be sure to read the bronze plaque behind the statue, which details the region's history.
