Many tourists enjoy deer hunting in Ohio.
Ohio tourists find a variety of activities to enjoy in January. Some visitors come for the hunting--Ohio's District One hunting zone has plenty of red-tailed deer. Others enjoy simply taking a vigorous walk through the frozen Hocking Hills State Park. Finally, take a last-minute look at the beautiful holiday decor at the Franklin Park Conservatory.
Holidays at the Conservatory
The Franklin Park Conservatory offers a display of holiday lights that ends the first Sunday of the month. In addition to the more than 100 different kinds of poinsettias are on display, a bright red poinsettia tree is on the premises and breakfast with Santa are also provided. The Conservatory is open from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm every day except Monday.

Deer Hunting
According to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, 5 to 7 percent of the archery deer hunt kills are from January hunts. Ohio Game & Fish Magazine says the number one place to hunt white-tailed deer in January is the District One area near Dublin, where farmland and forested areas meet.
