Fall in the area near Troy, Ohio, is jam packed with fun things to do. It is the last chance to enjoy the outdoors and private farms before winter sets in, and communities make the most of it. You can enjoy fairs and festivals, get lost in a corn maze, admire antique cars, go on a scary night time hay ride or pick your own pumpkins.
The Ohio Renaissance Festival

The Ohio Renaissance Festival is held every fall on the weekends and on Labor Day from the beginning of September to the end of October. It is a trip back in time to 16th century England with food, crafts, entertainment, jousting tournaments and other contests. Each weekend has a different theme: Family and Friends, Barbarian Invasion, Pirates, Oktoberfest, Feat of Fools, Highland, romance and Marketplace.

Preble County Pork Festival

The Preble County Pork Festival takes place one weekend every September. Events include a pork BBQ, entertainment, sausage making demonstrations and a parade. It is also one of the largest arts and craft shows with around 500 craftspeople participating each year.

Young's Jersey Dairy

Young's Jersey Dairy celebrates fall from the beginning of September to the end of October with a variety of fun things to do. September starts with the Annual Wool Gathering Show and you can pick your own pumpkins at the same time. In the beginning of October, the dairy holds its Annual Fall Farm Pumpkin Festival. On weekends in October you can go on a Haunted Wagon Ride 7:30 to 10 pm. October is also the time for the Clark County Retired Teachers Annual Car Show and the Yellow Springs Street Fair.

Tom Eby Farm

The Tom Eby Farm has one of the most challenging corn mazes around. The only way to get out is to solve a puzzle, and it is not an easy one. It is up from the end of August to the beginning of November. The paths are soothed down to make it easy for strollers and wheelchairs.

Hidden Valley Fruit Farm

Hidden Valley Fruit Farm gives tours of their orchards on the weekends in September and October. Groups of 10 can make reservations to pick pumpkins and you can meet the animals and have a family picnic if you wish.
