In Las Vegas, Nevada, there are plenty of things for tourists to do day and night. The biggest Vegas attractions are the many themed hotel-casino mega resorts, but there are other reasons for visiting too. Whether you want to golf, shop, keep the children entertained or simply relax and enjoy some good food and drinks, Las Vegas offers a huge variety of activities and attractions to suit all of its visitors.
Gambling

You don't have to be a big gambler with lots of money to risk to enjoy a flutter in the big Vegas casinos. You can choose from sports bets, slot machines, table and card games, keno and much more depending on the amount you want to risk. You may want to spend time in one of the high-stakes poker rooms or just see how long you can make a few dollars last on the nickel slots. Even if you have no desire to gamble, you should take a stroll around some of the biggest casinos, have a drink at a bar, watch the gamblers and experience the smoky Sin City ambiance.

Shows

Las Vegas shows rival gambling as a major tourist attraction. Las Vegas consistently attracts some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry who put on huge spectacular performances there. At the other end of the scale, there are free circus acts performed at Circus Circus' Carnival Midway and comedy-improv nights.

Nightlife

Las Vegas is alive and bustling throughout the day and night. There are plenty of bars and nightclubs to suit any taste. Whether you want to wear jeans and drink beer or get dressed up for cocktails and dancing, there is somewhere in Vegas to accommodate you. Many bars and clubs include entertainment from live music to something a bit more risque.

Walk The Strip

A walk along the main stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard known as "The Strip" is a Vegas experience not to be missed. The elaborate architecture of the mega-resorts and casinos is like none other in the world. You will see a miniaturized New York Skyline, the sights of Paris and Venice, a huge dark glass pyramid and bright pink big top. After dark, The Strip takes on a different appearance when it glows in neon and a huge light beam is projected into the air from Luxor. During the summer months, you may want to wait until the nighttime to walk The Strip as the desert air is much cooler then.

Golfing

Las Vegas and the surrounding area are a golfer's paradise. There are many world-class golf courses and small beginner ones too. You can even golf on The Strip after dark at the floodlit Callaway Learning Center. The desert weather means rain is unlikely and the courses are enjoyable all year around. In addition, several golfing goods outlet stores cater to golfers.
