Kalispell is a city in Northwest Montana. Surrounded by forests, lakes and other green spaces, Kalispell is a primary destination for those looking for some outdoor fun. With accommodation options ranging from 5-star hotels to rustic wood cabins, it's well worth a stay to enjoy the many things that the area has to offer.
Conrad Mansion

This mansion turned museum has been around since 1895, when Kalispell founder, Charles E. Conrad, had it built for his own family. The house has three stories, several massive stone fireplaces and Tiffany-style windows spread throughout its 26 rooms. Visitors will have a chance to see period furnishings, including special items in the drawing and game rooms, clothing, photographs and children's toys. There is a carriage house and a gazebo on the premises, and visitors can also tour the well-manicured gardens or attend special events. There are special tea tours starting on the last week of November and up until December 31. For a $23 fee, visitors can have tea, biscuits and sandwiches at the mansion's own dinning room.

House of Mystery

Self-dubbed "the getaway to the Montana Vortex," this area attracts families as much as it does lovers of the strange and mystic. While there are real physical explanations for everything that happens here, the truth is that the place makes the most of the wow effect the visual effects produce, resulting in a fun, although slightly confusing, visit. Examples of strange happenings here include "shrinking people" (as people stand in opposites corner of a leveled platform, they seem to shrink 3 to 4 inches), trees growing crooked and water flowing uphill. Whether nature's anomaly or pre-planned fun, this is a not-to-be-missed attraction.

Flathead Lake

The largest in the state of Montana, Flathead Lake is just seven miles outside of Kalispell and a popular destination for both visitors and locals. Over the past few decades, Flathead Lake has become famous around the country because of claims of a prehistoric beast, the Flathead Lake Monster, hunting its waters. Visitors also stop by for the high-quality fishing, the scenic 160-mile shoreline and the many opportunities for boating and water sports.
