Relax in the natural hot springs vapor caves. At one time, the vapor caves were a healing location for the Ute Indian tribe, since it is believed that hot springs have healing attributes. Now a tourist getaway, the caves feature marble benches for relaxing and a spa for visitors to get special treatments and massages. Spa treatments vary in price, depending on the service. See the sights on the Iron Mountain Tram. The tramway is 4,300 feet long, leading tourists to Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park. The 10-minute ride offers visitors views of not only Glenwood Springs but also of the Rocky Mountains. The fully enclosed glass gondolas hold six riders. Once visitors reach the park at the top, they can check out the views, take a tour of the caverns, go on thrill rides and have a meal at the mountaintop restaurant, the Lookout Grille. Cave tours are also available. Those who wish to go on the thrill rides must buy tickets for riding. The Iron Mountain Tramway Station is at 51000 Two Rivers Plaza Road in Glenwood Springs. Soak in the world's largest hot springs pool. Over two blocks long, the hot springs were once used by the Ute Indian tribe as a healing pool. The pool, established as far back as 1888, is set in the outdoors, along the Colorado River and Rocky Mountains. In one large pool, the waters reach 90 to 93 degrees. In a smaller spa, the waters reach 104 degrees. In addition to the relaxing warm water, there are also water slides, bubble chairs, inner tubes and diving boards for all to use.
