Corpus Christi Municipal Marina

The marina is one of the city's main attractions and a great destination for those who want to take a walk in a clear summer evening. Aside from the sight of the great many boats around, the marina also features great landscaping and access to McGee beach, a small but clean white beach that offers shallow waters (perfect for families with small kids) and short walking distance to other attractions, including the USS Lexington.

USS Lexington

The USS Lexington is a WWII aircraft carrier that is now permanently anchored in Corpus Christi Bay. Open for self-guided tours everyday, the ship offers visitors a chance to explore tunnels, passageways and cabins before they even head to the lower decks, the hangar and the Foc'sle (where the anchors are located). There's also a flight simulator, a MEGA theater and a Mess Deck Cafe onboard. The best way to end the tour is to head to the Curatorial Exhibit, where memorabilia, historical items and photographs are showcased. Other exhibits include a typical laundry room and scullery.
