Romantic Things to Do in Chicago During the Winter

Chicago makes romance easy in the summertime, but what about the winter? Despite the cold, romantic nights are actually plentiful amidst Chicago winters, you just have to know where to look.
Ice Skating

Millennium Park has a huge ice rink. Whether or not you know how to skate well isn't the point of this activity, it's holding hands with your significant other, trying to keep each other steady as you glide between the frozen lake and beautiful skyline. If you don't have your own skates, rentals are available.

The Magnificent Mile

Michigan Avenue is an impressive strip as it is, but there's nothing quite like strolling down the Magnificent Mile during a snowy winter night. As long as you're both bundled up, the light decorations that line the street make for a perfect winter walk. Head over to the Chicago river on Saturday evenings for fireworks and champagne.

Lincoln Park Zoo

The Lincoln Park Zoo goes all out in the wintertime. The beautiful landscape becomes coated with white lights, a stunning backdrop for a romantic pre-dinner afternoon activity. But remember, not all of the exhibits are indoors, so make sure you're both bundled up as you walk from one building to another.
