Things to Do in the Canton, Ohio Area
Canton, Ohio is a city with a population of about 80,000, just 21 miles from Akron in the eastern part of the state. The Canton area, not far from the Pennsylvania border, has much to offer the sports enthusiast, history buff and a family looking for a good time at an amusement park. Canton, Ohio is right near route 77, making it easy to get to from almost anywhere.
Pro Football Hall of Fame
Canton, Ohio is the perfect location for The Pro Football Hall of Fame because the National Football League was founded here in 1920. Must sees are the Hall of Heroes and the Call the Play Theater, and interactive experience where you get to be the coach.

Hoover Historical Center
The Hoover Historical Center was once the home of the founder of the Hoover Vacuum Company. The exhibits are all about him and his inventions, which include items besides vacuum cleaners such as helmets he invented for the Army during WW II. In nice weather, you can enjoy a stroll around the gardens as well.

Canton Classic Car Museum
The earliest car at the Canton Classic Car Museum dates back to 1904. Some of the other cars include a 1907 Renault limousine, a 1922 Holmes coupe, a 1963 Amphicar (a car that could turn into a boat) and a 1926 Dodge. They do have other things on display from the early 20th century, including toys, clothes and household items.

Ohio Swiss Festival
The Ohio Swiss Festival is held every September in Sugarcreek, Ohio, "The Little Switzerland of Ohio." The festival has a 5K run to participate in, a parade, entertainment by Alpine horn players, bands in the dance pavilion, contests and Swiss games.
