Atlantic City, New Jersey is famous for being a popular tourist destination for adults, with its many gambling and casino activities. However, there are also a lot of fun kid's activities in Atlantic City. From museums to seaports to skating rinks, children are sure to have a fun time while vacationing in Atlantic City as well.
Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum
Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum is one of the best family tourist attractions in the Atlantic City area. With wacky and unusual exhibits, this museum features everything from the Jersey Devil skeleton to an entire roulette table made out of jelly beans. Children will have a fun-filled day strolling through Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum.
Atlantic City Aquarium
The Atlantic City Aquarium is a maritime and marine education center that also has various entertainment facilities. The focus of this center is to promote awareness of the ocean and all of its lifeforms. Children will have a fun time exploring the aquarium, interacting with marine life at the "touch tank," checking out the coral tank, looking at shipwreck relics and examining several interactive displays.
Steel Pier
The Steel Pier is one of Atlantic City's most legendary and famous theme parks. In existence for over a century, the Steel Pier is full of entertainment, games, live show, rides and other attractions. The Steel Pier amusement park has rides including the Double Decker Carousel, Rock'n'Roll, Jump Cycles and Mini Rocket. Be sure to also catch the live thrill show of the Amazing Nocks (high soaring daredevils who perform handstands, leaps and other adventurous acts).
Lucy the Elephant
Lucy the Elephant is located in Margate, just outside of Atlantic City. This is the world's most celebrated "walk through" pachyderm, at an astounding sixty-five feet tall. There are a lot of relics and artifacts from the southern New Jersey and Atlantic City area on display at Lucy the Elephant. Children (and parents) are sure to adore the unusual charm of visiting the world's biggest elephant, Lucy.
Flyers SkateZone
One way for kids to have a blast while visiting Atlantic City is by going to the Flyers SkateZone skating rink. This skating rink is massive, the same size as an authentic NHL (National Hockey League) rink. If kids do not have their own skates, they can rent skates directly from Flyers SkateZone. This is the perfect way for kids to spend an afternoon, or even an entire day, enjoying the ice.
