Laughlin is a small city located in Clark County, Nevada. Laughlin is located alongside the Colorado River, just across from Arizona. Laughlin is a popular tourist destination because of its plentiful gambling and casinos (it's the third most popular gambling spot in Nevada, after Las Vegas and Reno). Colorado River Museum

The Colorado River Museum is located just across from the river, and displays a vast array of historical relics and artifacts, like maps and photographs, from the area's earliest settlers. The museum houses memorabilia relating to the steamboats that once passed through the Colorado River, the region's ranching past, and the vibrant periods of silver and gold mining. There are also several exhibits that are replicas of significant landmarks in the area.

Davis Dam

Davis Dam is located approximately 90 miles downstream from the legendary Hoover Dam. In existence since 1953, Davis Dam was established in order to gain control over the frequent floods plaguing the Colorado River. The Dam helped make Laughlin and other towns along the Colorado River (such as Bullhead City, Arizona) become more commercialized and highly developed. It is an important historical site for the Laughlin area.

Gold Mine Tour

Gold Mine Tours take place in Oatman, Nevada, which is about two and a half miles north of Laughlin. These tours are guided and last approximately 45 minutes. Big Bend of the Colorado State is a recreational park that is located just below the Colorado River shores. If you want to see exquisite Colorado River and mountain views, Big Bend of the Colorado State is a good park to visit. There are a lot of recreational, outdoor activities to enjoy at this park, such as fishing, boating, picnicking and swimming. There are also hiking paths and campgrounds available.

Spirit Mountain and Grapevine Canyon

Spirit Mountain (also known as Newberry Peak) and Grapevine Canyon are both located slightly to the west of Laughlin. The mountain is wonderful for hiking purposes, especially during the fall, winter and early part of spring. Be sure to go to Christmas Tree Pass, which is a breathtaking mountain biking trail. Grapevine Canyon is great for easy hikes, and has ancestral, ancient Yuman petroglyph drawings. It is southern Nevada's largest petroglyph site. The petroglyphs detail the myth of how the Colorado River came into existence.
