The community of Waterford, Michigan, is in the southeastern region of the Wolverine State. Located northwest of
Detroit, Michigan's largest urban area and city, Waterford combines the serene settings of nature with the conveniences of suburbia. There are plenty of dining options within and around the Waterford community, including a selection of Thai restaurants.
Hot Pepper Thai Restaurant
The Hot Pepper Thai Restaurant, opened in 2000, offers Thai cuisine at affordable prices. The restaurant, as named the best Thai restaurant in the area by the "Oakland Press" newspaper for two years running -- 2008 and 2009. Open Mondays through Saturdays for lunch and dinner, Hot Pepper offers entrees including gang gai (sauteed chicken with bamboo shoots and basil in a red curry sauce) and pad prik (sauteed choice of meat in a garlic sauce with onion, scallions and mushrooms). The menu also features a selection of fried rice dishes, noodle dishes and Thai salads.

Thailand Express Thai Food
Thailand Express is an eat-in or carry-out restaurant. Located on Dixie Highway in Waterford, the eatery offers 44 dishes to choose from, with standard fare such as hot and sour Thai soup, peanut curry dishes, curry noodles with chicken, pad thai and egg rolls. It's a mom-and-pop style restaurant, and the owners can be found right in the kitchen.

Siam Fusion
Siam Fusion, in nearby White Lake, offers both lunch and dinner as well as a separate carry-out menu. Entrees on the lunch menu include pad prik, pad pred (stir-fried meat with bamboo shoots, red curry sauce, eggplant and coconut milk), and pad cashew, as well as a selection of fried rice, noodle and vegetarian dishes. House specialties are available on the dinner menu. A children's menu is offered, and dishes can be ordered in various spice levels, ranging from no spice to extra- hot.

Lemon Grass Thai Restaurant
The Lemon Grass Thai Restaurant, located in neighboring Pontiac, is open for lunch and dinner and is closed on Sundays. The restaurant offers a wide selection of rice, noodle, grilled and curry dishes. Dinner entrees include pha ram rong song (cabbage and broccoli with peanut sauce and meat), phad prig khing (hot curry with string beans and meat), and phad prig (bamboo shoots, mushroom, onion and pepper stir-fried with meat). Dishes range from mild to extra-hot. Thai iced tea and Thai coffee are also available.
