The Alamo

The Alamo is open daily for visitors interested in learning about the famed battle of March 6, 1836. This landmark does not charge admission to view its exhibits and artifacts.

The State Fair of Texas

The State Fair of Texas in Dallas displays the state's food, music and pastimes each fall. The biggest attraction at the State Fair is the 52-foot Big Tex statue.

Padre Island National Seashore

Padre Island National Seashore is a 70-mile stretch of coastline preserved by the National Parks Service. The seashore attracts bird watchers and naturalists with its abundant native species.

Six Flags Over Texas

South by Southwest

South by Southwest is a music festival held each March in Austin, Texas. The festival presents indie rock bands, alternative comedians and indie films over an entire week.
