A variation of a taco salad.
Tacos, a bit of Mexican flair that traditionally pairs ground beef, lettuce, tomato and cheese in a crispy corn tortilla, are popular in many places. It is not uncommon in the
United States to see them offered in many varieties. States that border
Mexico, such as California and Texas, offer tacos in gas stations or even sell them at drive-by sites.
Connecticut is nowhere near the Mexican border, but it does have Mexican restaurants that serve delicious tacos in an array of different varieties.
Taco Loco
A fresh variation of a Mexican fave.
Recently, healthier Mexican fare, called "fresh Mex" and offering uncommon tacos like vegetarian, chicken and shrimp, has been making its way into Connecticut. One restaurant offering these new, healthy alternatives to typical taco fare is Taco Loco.
Taco Loco offers a wide variety of meat in tacos, including shrimp, fish, steak and pork. There are also fajitas and burgers for those who prefer to stay on the American side of things. Taco Loco has received acclaim from The New York Times for its taco varieties.
