During this excursion, you will first learn about dolphins and then proceed to swim with them in a controlled, safe environment. Throughout your swim with the dolphins, you will be monitored by a trained instructor.

Step 1

Check out locations within the Naples, Florida, area that have programs that allow you to swim with dolphins. Two popular programs that include dolphin encounters are Dolphin World and Florida Dolphin Tours.

Step 2

Travel to the designated area near Naples, Florida, to swim with the dolphins. For instance, the Florida Dolphin Tours program allows your encounter to take place in a 15-foot-deep natural ocean lagoon nearby its facility.

Step 3

Go through a training course prior to your swim. The course will give you an overview of dolphins and their capabilities. You will also be given extensive instruction on water and animal safety while taking part in the swim.

Step 4

Wear the proper safety equipment. The staff will give you flotation devices that are to be worn during your swim. You will then enter the water with one of the program's instructors.

Step 5

Follow the trainer's instructions while swimming with the dolphins. The trainer will typically command the dolphins to give you a handshake, splash you, give out kisses and more.
