Summer Music Festivals in California
As a state, California has a whirlwind of diverse music available that allows the listener to get a taste of new artists and styles. Every summer, thousands of people get together for music festivals in California to experience these innovative performances together. It can be a difficult decision when it comes to choosing what California summer festivals you should check out, as nearly all are worth attending.
Lake Tahoe Music Festival
Held in late July to early August, the music festival at Lake Tahoe draws people with all kinds of music tastes from the area to hear the diverse lineup. It features a variety of acts from rock and jazz to Broadway and has an orchestra finale. Fourplay and the Yellowjackets featuring Mike Stern are bands that have played at the festival in the past. California Worldfest
California Worldfest is a four-day festival held in Grass Valley every summer in mid-July since 1996. This festival has campgrounds and encourages a feeling of community and unity. Harmony Festival
The Harmony Festival has been running strong since it started to encourage lifestyle and value changes in 1978. Held in mid-June, the festival features acts like Cake, Dead Kennedys and India.Arie, as well as Techno Tribal dances to drums and beat boxing. Several stages, more than 300 vendor booths and a bookstore at the festival draw in more than 30,000 people for a musical--as well as spiritual--experience.
