Whether you're celebrating an anniversary or graduation or just feel the need for a good steak, Omaha, Nebraska has plenty of steakhouses from which to choose. You can always go to a chain steak restaurant like Flemings but for a more "Omaha" experience, there are several locally-owned steak restaurants to enjoy.
Omaha Prime
Located in the Old Market district, Omaha Prime boasts of being one of the few steakhouses in the U.S. to exclusively serve USDA prime grade beef. Only five percent of cattle raised in the country can be classified as Prime. Every steak is aged and hand cut everyday. There are a variety of side dishes to choose from like creamed garlic spinach, blue cheese potatoes and, of course, the perfect steak companion, a baked potato. Omaha Prime also serves a number of chicken and seafood entrees and features an extensive wine menu.

Brother Sebastian's Steakhouse and Winery
Locally-owned and operated, Brother Sebastian's has been voted Best of Omaha by the readers of Omaha Magazine. The Spanish mission inspired building was first built in 1977. A fire in 1996 destroyed the original Brother Sebastian's but the restaurant was quickly rebuilt in the same year. The lunch menu has a selection of sandwiches and steaks as well as chicken and seafood. You can start dinner with a plate of escargot and then dig into a slow-cooked prime rib or the filet Sebastian, a 12 oz. center cut tenderloin with sautéed mushrooms and hollandaise sauce. It even has a large selection for the non steak lover. Be courageous and try the frog legs or maybe just go with the chicken Oskar, which is a blend of chicken breast, crab meat, asparagus and hollandaise sauce.

Anthony's Steakhouse
Anthony's opened its doors in 1967 and was named Omaha's "Best Steakhouse" in 1999. The steaks are dry aged for a minimum of 21 days to ensure explosive flavor and a juicy, tender steak. Choose from a selection of salads at lunch or for a heartier fare you can try the Whiskey Rib-eye, which is a 12 oz. rib-eye marinated in Kentucky bourbon. The dinner menu has a toasted ravioli appetizer and several steaks from which to choose. If red meat isn't your thing, you still have a lot of choices. There are a number of seafood dishes, including rainbow trout and lobster as well as several pasta dishes and a double-boned pork chop.
