The Audubon Aquarium of the Americas is located off the French Quarter in
New Orleans. The large aquarium sits on the shores of the Mississippi river. The aquarium is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. As a popular tourist area, there are a number of fine hotels near the aquarium. Prices for rooms vary depending on the time of year, reaching to lowest during the winter off-season. Winter in New Orleans is actually one of the best times of the year to visit, when the temperatures are mild.
