Hampton Inn Manhattan
The 144-room Hampton Inn Manhattan, part of the Hilton chain, is a convenient hotel in the center of Midtown. The hotel is an ideal jumping off point to visit the majority of
New York. It is an efficient way to take a a break from the hustle and bustle of the Big Apple. The amenities include free breakfast and free beverages throughout the day along with local shuttles throughout the city for less than $2.
Wows and Woes
Many of New York's major attractions, including Times Square and Madison Square Garden, are all within easy walking distance.
This is a typical Hampton Inn, not overly inspiring, but in New York that still means over $300 a night for a simple room with a bed, a desk and no free Wi-Fi.
Insider Tips
Leave your car at home. New York is much better with public transportation or walking. At $45 a night, parking is not cheap at The Hampton Inn Manhattan.
Author's Most Memorable Moment
When I go to New York, I want to spend my time exploring the city. The Hampton Inn understands this and goes out of their way to support it; which is why they had a breakfast-to-go packed for me each morning with bottled water. When I returned, my bed was turned down and it was a comfortable pillow top. I promptly passed out in and didn't wake again until the sun came up.
Bottom Line
The Hampton Inn Manhattan is centrally located. So if you don't mind paying an arm and a leg per night for location, then it's worth it.
