South New Jersey is a place for family activities with
beaches along the Atlantic Ocean, Six Flags Great Adventure, the Cohanzik Zoo and sites like the Fort Mott State Park for outdoor sports. The restaurants in South New Jersey are as family friendly as the attractions, many of them with special children's menus and each of them with a cuisine all its own.
Inlet Restaurant and Bar
The Inlet Restaurant and Bar has its own dock for its customer's use and a dockside bar that is seasonally open. The restaurant is located on Great Egg Harbor Bay and outdoor dining is available on several decks. The cuisine is American and the style is casual. The menu features pan-seared local sea scallops, island spiced tilapia, sauteed Jumbo lump crab cakes, lobster ravioli, blackened 12 oz. rib-eye and Parmesan--oregano crusted chicken breast. A special kids' menu is available. The restaurant is open seasonally starting in March for lunch and dinner seven days a week.

Rio Grande Diner and Family Restaurant
The Rio Grande Diner and Family Restaurant is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The diner is all casual and family friendly. The menu features traditional breakfast items served all day long and includes country fried steak, baked Virginia ham, honey dipped fried chicken, chicken croquettes, vegetable platter, twin lobster tails, stuffed flounder and salmon filet.

Red Lion Inn
The Red Lion Inn is a family-owned and operated restaurant that has been open since 1923. It is casual and family friendly with a mix of Italian and American cuisines. The menu features homemade pasta with braciola, homemade pasta with white clam sauce, fried clam platter, pork and pasta, broiled lemon butter shrimp, teriyaki filet mignon, veal gruyere, veal and peppers and half fried chicken. The restaurant is open for dinner six days a week, for lunch on Sunday and is closed on Mondays.

Terranova Restaurant Crudo Wine Bar
Terranova Restaurant Crudo Wine Bar is a casual restaurant decorated in Southwest decor with a contemporary American cuisine. The restaurant has an extensive wine list and a menu that features crab cakes, meyer lemon veal, bleu cheese crusted filet mignon, cajun jambalaya and crab loaded filet. The restaurant also has a special kids' menu and is open for lunch and dinner seven days a week. Reservations are recommended.
