Wows and Woes
The beautiful lobby of the Royal Sonesta.
The Royal Sonesta has a convenient French Quarter location, beautiful architecture and design, and a helpful staff.
Though being in the French Quarter is convenient, it can also be noisy. You are likely to hear the ruckus from Bourbon Street at night, and the daily parking fee of $31 is steep.
Insider Tips
Don't hesitate to ask the concierge for suggestions.
The concierge desk attendants are particularly knowledgeable and helpful at the Royal Sonesta. If it is your first time to visit New Orleans or if you are looking for something unique to do, the concierge will help you arrange an ideal itinerary. Also, be sure to try Begue's Restaurant in the hotel. The creole food is outstanding, and the views of the tropical courtyard from the restaurant are beautiful.

It was fun to watch Bourbon Street come alive at night from the balcony.
My room at the Royal Sonesta faced Bourbon Street, so I was able to sit out on the balcony and watch the festivities from the comfort of my hotel accommodations. Watching the colorful nighttime crowd come out to party from the balcony was a memorable experience.
Bottom Line
The Royal Sonesta provides a romantic, upscale atmosphere.
The Royal Sonesta is an exquisite, luxurious boutique hotel. This is a perfect hotel for a romantic getaway.
