Snowshoe Mountain Resort offers year-round outdoor recreation. However, the resort is most known for its winter sports, which include skiing, snowboarding, snowmobile adventures, snowshoe treks and many more unique outdoor activities. Guests may take advantage of the inclusive retreat-style facilities that are located in a remote region of West Virginia, offering stellar views of the Appalachian Mountains. In addition to winter outdoor recreation, Snowshoe Mountain Resort has been gaining in popularity among mountain biking enthusiasts. The facility offers downhill and cross-country mountain biking trails as well as competitive opportunities. Golfing is also a major Snowshoe Mountain claim-to-fame. For cheaper eats, check out restaurants at the bottom of the mountain, where the food is great and the prices even better, and come when the weather is fair because country roads can be dangerous in inclement weather.

On the plus side, there are more than 60 ski slopes and 14 chairlifts, year-round outdoor recreation, and beautiful mountain scenery. There are a range of lodging and food facilities at the resort offered at varying prices. Prices for lift tickets and tickets for various recreational opportunities are comparable to those at other similar facilities. However, because the resort is located in a remote section of West Virginia, it is not easily accessible. Guests should expect to drive no fewer than 60 minutes along small country roads. They should expect delays in inclement weather, and the roads are often dangerous in snow, ice and rainy conditions.

If you can handle a potentially harrowing drive along curvy country roads, it is well worth it when you arrive at your destination. Snowshoe Mountain Resort offers some of the best outdoor recreation in West Virginia. The facilities offer great views and the remoteness of the location is an asset to the resort atmosphere. There lodging facilities range in luxuries and price, and there are plenty of shopping and eating establishments as well as activities for young, old and everyone in between. Food and drink prices are somewhat expensive. However, guests can travel to the bottom of the mountain to obtain a better price at one of the locally owned facilities that surround the entrance to the resort.
