Best Ski Resorts on the U.S. East Coast
The U.S. East Coast has some of the best ski
resorts in the country. There are both small and large ski resorts, and they go as far south as North Carolina. The resorts in the South are not as big as the ones in the North, and they do not have as long a season, but they do just as good a job at making you feel right at home, and the trails can be challenging as well.
North Carolina
Appalachian Ski Mountain has four private chalets right by the mountain. Three of them sleep eight and the other up to 14. The mountain itself has five lifts--two quads, one double, one conveyor and one handle pull--with a total capacity of 7,884 an hour. There are 10 slopes, all lighted for night skiing, and a Terrain Park with 13 rails, eight boxes and one wide rail. There is snowmaking on the entire mountain. The ski season is from the end of November to the end of March.
