Florida's SeaWorld is on Central Florida Parkway between International Drive and Sea Harbor Drive, just minutes from
Orlando International Airport and downtown Orlando. SeaWorld Orlando, which opened in 1973, was the third SeaWorld theme park opened in the
United States.
Admission
SeaWorld Orlando is open year-round with gates opening daily at 9 a.m. Tickets for SeaWorld Orlando can be purchased online or at the gates. Discounts are provided for Florida and Georgia residents, with group rates also available.
Live Shows
In 2009, SeaWorld Orlando is the home of 10 live shows, many including marine life. SeaWorld's main attraction is Shamu the killer whale. Shamu's show for 2009 is entitled "Believe," and it gives audiences a chance to look into the world of Shamu.
Rides
SeaWorld Orlando has several rides visitors can enjoy. Journey to Atlantis and the Manta are two water rides, while the Kraken is SeaWorld Orlando's biggest and fastest roller coaster. Other rides include the Skytower, the Wilde Arctic and the Happy Harbor.
Exhibits
SeaWorld Orlando offers visitors hands-on exhibits in the stingray pool and Dolphin Cove. Up-close exhibits include the shark and penguin encounters. The Clydesdale Hamlet, featuring the world-famous Anheuser-Busch Clydesdales, is another popular destination inside the park.
Restaurants
In addition to dozens of refreshment stands throughout the park, SeaWorld Orlando has nine sit-down restaurants. Shark's Underwater Grill gives diners an underwater view of live sharks and a menu full of seafood choices. SeaWorld's other restaurants include barbecue, pizza, hamburgers and grab-and-go food. All-day dining deals are available.
Additional Parks
In addition to SeaWorld Orlando, you also can visit the nearby Discovery Cove and Aquatica Waterpark. SeaWorld Orlando also offers a shuttle service to Busch Gardens.
