Hotels
There are over 33,000 hotel rooms in the city of San Francisco in 215 hotels, according to the San Francisco Convention and Visitors Bureau (SFCVB).
Taxes
As tracked by SFCVB, taxes on overnight occupancy of these rooms generated $210 million in 2007.
Gender
The tourists who fuel the tourism industry in San Francisco are split evenly along gender lines, according to SFCVB.
Getting There
SFCVB's tracking shows that about 80 percent of visitors in 2007 arrived using air travel as their main means of getting to the area.
Average Stay
Most visitors stayed in 2007 for an average of four and a half days, according to data from SFCVB.
