The Mini Golf course at the Comfort Suites
The Comfort Suites in
San Antonio has a very plain decor but comfortable feel to it. Rooms all come equipped with flat screen televisions, a microwave and a refrigerator. The outdoor pool has a very Southern feel with white stone surrounding it and a mini waterfall. There is also a full breakfast buffet served every morning and a mini-golf course.
Wows and Woes
Wows: The rooms are spacious, clean and unbelievably comfortable. It felt more like a bedroom than a hotel room.
Woes: The hotel could benefit from a on-site restaurant for lunch and dinner.
Insider Tips
On Thursday nights, the hotel holds a wine reception held by the manager. The reception features a variety of wines to taste and is the perfect start to a weekend. If you are going to be in San Antonio on a Thursday, the reception is a reason to stay at the Comfort Suites.
Author's Most Memorable Moment
Despite the lack of a dinner restaurant, the breakfast buffet had variety and was fresh. The food was great and plentiful. I ended up eating breakfast at the hotel all three mornings I was there.
Bottom Line
Room rates are reasonable, and guests can be assured that they will receive the comfort they're paying for.
