Houston, Texas is home to many romantic dining venues.
It doesn't have to be Valentine's Day to plan a
romantic night out with your significant other. For those living in or visiting the
Houston area, there are numerous restaurants perfect for a romantic night for just the two of you, each offering a different style of cuisine so you can plan the perfect evening.
Perry's Italian Grille
Perry's Italian Grille, voted the "Most Romantic Restaurant in Houston," according to its website, offers fine Italian food and an extensive wine list. The dinner menu offers pastas, salads and entrees, such as chicken Alfredo, Italian grilled or fried shrimp, Bistecca Rosemarino and chicken Diavola. Perry's also offers a special Valentine Day's menu, providing a multi-course prix fixed meal with soup, appetizer and entree. Perry's is open for lunch and dinner on weekdays and dinner only on Saturdays.

Aura Restaurant
Aura Restaurant, located just outside of central Houston, offers "innovative American food with an 'inch' of French," according to its website. For couples looking for a simple, yet refined way to celebrate, Aura Restaurant offers an intimate dining room atmosphere and menu loaded with French favorites, such as coq au vin, lobster ravioli "antiboise," beef medallions Diane and the extravagant cote de boeuf for two at the price of $50, as of March 2010. Offering a classy but not pretentious dining experience, eating at Aura will allow you to pretend you and your partner have whisked away together to France for a romantic evening. The extensive wine list will also add a hint of romance to the evening. Aura is run by Chef Frédéric Perrier, who is originally from Lyon, France. The lunch menu offers lighter fare, such as sandwiches and salads. Aura Restaurant is open for lunch and dinner on Tuesdays through Saturdays.

Brenner's Steakhouse
Brenner's Steakhouse has been serving romantic dinners to Houston couples since 1936. Nestled in a rustic, secluded building, when you enter the restaurant, it's like an escape from the bustle of the city. Steaks are featured on Brenner's menu, but couples not found of beef will also find Wiener Schnitzel, many varieties of chicken, and seafood. Brenner's also offers a romantic cocktail lounge and a dark wooden interior for intimate conversation. For those who want to dine outside, there is a terrace perfect for those couples who like to enjoy the outdoors while dining. Brenner's is well known for its signature German potatoes and apple strudel for dessert. Other side dishes include haricot verts and creamed spinach. Brenner's is open daily for dinner and offers lunch on Tuesdays through Fridays.
