Tides Hotel pool
The beachfront Tides Hotel in South
beach,
Miami, offers its guests relaxing, upscale suites that are perfect for a laid-back vacation.
Every room comes equipped with a plasma-screen television, a DVD player and CD player, free Wi-Fi, an iPod docking stereo and a fully stocked minibar. Many of the suites also have beachfront balconies.
The hotel also has a 24-hour pool and fitness center, a luxury spa, free continental breakfast as well as a full-service restaurant--La Marea.
The rooms and hotel common areas featured a light, beachlike decor that relaxes guests upon entering.
Wows and Woes
Wows: The decor really sets the tone for a stay at the Tides. Something about the light tones used in the rooms combined with the sound of the ocean that can be heard from almost every suite, truly enhances the atmosphere.
Woes: The spa, despite being in a luxury hotel, is terribly overpriced.
Insider Tips
The hotel is currently offering a deal where if a guest stays for three nights, the fourth night is free. Truly a good deal considering the room rates.
Author's Most Memorable Moment
The venue for the wedding I attended at Tides was amazing. The hotel's private event staff was on top of everything from start to finish, and the food from La Marea was spot on.
Bottom Line
As is usually the case in South Beach, guests will have to pay for luxury. The hotel is indeed expensive.
