Review of Hilton Anaheim

An ideal choice for those traveling to Orange County, California, for work purposes, the Hilton Anaheim remains technically connected to the Anaheim Convention Center. The hotel also provides tremendous access to Disneyland. Standard facilities, suites and executive rooms boast a stream of modern amenities such as flat-screen televisions and Internet access, as well as a decidedly chic decor.
Wows and Woes

The Hilton Anaheim features a well-equipped business center, providing business travelers with a host of amenities they might need to get through the work day such as printers, fax machines and copying services. The on-site Starbucks as well as Mix Restaurant provide fast and reliable service, benefiting travelers on the go.
The reception staff at the Hilton Anaheim can at times appear overworked, overwhelmed and ill-equipped to handle so many guests. While the staff works hard and offers a friendly demeanor, a slew of check-in dilemmas can be grating to say the least.

Insider Tips

If you have a rental car, consider driving 10 minutes west to Old Town Orange. While the area surrounding the Hilton Anaheim offers plenty of dining options, you most likely will find nothing other than big chain restaurants that are not exclusive to Southern California. But Old Town Orange possesses a series of independently owned cafes, bakeries and restaurants.

Author's Most Memorable Moment

In 2004, I covered the U.S. Gymnastics Olympic Trials in Anaheim. Although I lived only 20 minutes from the arena, my company put me up in the Hilton Anaheim for two days. Having grown up in the area, you can become immune to Disneyland's appeal. But each morning I'd chuckle inside as I watched anxious children begging their parents to hurry up and finish their breakfasts so they could go to Disneyland.

Bottom Line

The Hilton Anaheim aims to seamlessly combine the needs of vacationing families and business travelers. It succeeds for the most part, primarily because of its ideal location.
