Review of the Doubletree Hotel in Memphis, Tennessee

One of the smaller conference rooms
The Doubletree Hotel in Memphis, Tennessee finds a good balance between a business hotel and a leisure hotel, providing great accommodations for both. It has a spacious business center and meeting space that includes large convention rooms and smaller conference rooms. It also has a beautiful pool in the hotel atrium, a fitness center and a children's menu at Cals Championship Steakhouse, the hotel's restaurant. The balance makes the hotel great for any type of travel.
Wows and Woes

Wows: The pool is remarkable. It's large, with an indoor deck and a wide open atrium to let the sun in. There are plants around the outside of the deck to give it an outdoor feel regardless of the weather.

Woes: The location is not great. The hotel is several miles east of the heart of downtown Memphis.

Insider Tips

Cal's Championship Steakhouse delivers room service for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The food is fantastic as a dine-in experience, but to have it delivered to your room is remarkable. Normally, hotels with a restaurant this nice offer room service from another kitchen.

Author's Most Memorable Moment

The best part of the trip was the pool. It was remarkable and relaxing. Most indoor pools make you feel like you're closed in, but the giant windows make it like you're sitting in the sun.

Bottom Line

The prices are on par for a big city hotel, but the location of the hotel is not ideal. Travelers may get the same rate closer to downtown.
