Coronado Springs Resort is located at Walt Disney World.
Disney's Coronado Springs
resort is a moderate-level hotel at the Walt Disney World resort located on a 15-acre waterfront. It has nearly 2,000 rooms, plus a main pool with water slide, quiet pools, a restaurant, food court and store. Unlike the other moderates, it also has full convention facilities. This makes it ideal for vacationing families as well as for convention-goers who want to mix business with pleasure.
Wows and Woes
Coronado Springs Resort has a Southwest theme.
Coronado Springs Resort is a moderate-level hotel, but its Southwest theme is as breathtaking as the decor at Disney's deluxe properties.
Coronado Springs is located near the Animal Kingdom and Blizzard, but it takes a while to drive to the other three theme parks, Typhoon Lagoon and Downtown Disney.
Insider Tips
The rooms at Coronado Springs Resort have coffee makers.
Ask for a room assignment near the first bus stop. Coronado Springs has multiple bus stops. At crowded times of the year the seats may all be taken by the time it reaches the later stops or it might reach capacity.
If you need your caffeine in the morning, take advantage of the in-room coffee makers.
Most Memorable Moment
Coronado Springs Resort has themed swimming pools.
Like all Disney properties, Coronado Springs is aimed at families but it brings out the "kid" in adults too. On my first visit, I just couldn't help going down the Mayan water slide in the exquisitely-themed swimming pool. The magic of Disney is that the theme parks turn every guest into a youngster again, and so do the hotels.
Bottom Line
Coronado Springs Resort has watercraft rentals on its 15 acre lake.
Although Coronado Springs Resort is geared for conventions, its amenities make it a great property for leisure travelers, too. Its out-of-the-way location is part of its charm.
