Front Entrance to The Candy Cane Inn
Candy Cane Inn is a boutique Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotel located on picturesque Katella Avenue. It has the distinction of being located one block from the gates of Disneyland Park, and it is known as a moderate hotel. It is surrounded by beautiful palm trees, and the decor is calm and inviting. The hotel has a lovely fountain out front. Candy Cane Inn is within walking distance to various restaurants, shops and the
Anaheim Gardenwalk.
Insider Tips
The rooms are very cute and comfortable. You'll have a nice, comfortable bed (or beds), a convenient TV setup and a coffeemaker. The premium rooms include such amenities as coffee grinders, a microwave and a VCR/DVD player.
The Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotel has a beautiful pool and a very relaxing hot tub open all day. There is also a free breakfast each morning consisting of juice, coffee, cereal, bagels, and doughnuts.
There is also a gift shop to purchase various things from snacks to souvenirs. There is also a free shuttle that is exclusive to hotel guests that provides transportation to and from the park entrance.
Pros and Cons
The hotel is not as close to the park entrance as the brochure or Website makes it appear. On foot, it can be up to a ten minute walk. It is recommended that you take the hotel's own shuttle to the park entrance. Otherwise, renting a car is a good idea and is highly recommended.
Another drawback is the proximity of some of the rooms to the pool. When the pool is open, it can get loud in the morning. Many of the guests tend to congregate around it for breakfast.
The hotel staff is wonderful and very personable. They are always on hand to help with any question, no matter how small. The shuttle drivers are very knowledgeable of the town.
Bottom Line
The Candy Cane Inn is a perfect hotel for a romantic getaway for couples, as well a fun vacation for families as well. It is located right in the heart of Katella Ave. at 1747 South Harbor Boulevard across the street from a variety of restaurants, hotels and various tourist stops. For those who have never experienced the magic that is Disneyland, there is no better place to stay.
This Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotel is close enough to hear the screams of excited guests on the ride "The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror," but it's far enough away to make you feel like you are on your own uncharted island.
