Also conveniently located inside the hotel is Broadway 49, a swanky and sophisticated lounge offering delicious cocktails and a relaxed ambiance. Guest rooms come with a 37-inch flat screen TV, cable and satellite TV, high-speed Internet, and in-room dining.
Wows and Woes
The hotel includes the famous New York Sports Club. This health club hosts a state-of-the-art fitness center, sauna, steam room and the largest indoor lap pool in Manhattan.
One woe is the street on which the hotel is located is consistently crowded. It can be quite loud and overwhelming at times, and walking your way down the busy street can at times be an aggravation.
Insider Tips
Visit Caroline's on Broadway, a comedy club located just seconds from the hotel on Broadway. The venue hosts some of the most entertaining amateur and professional comedy acts that come through New York, and Caroline's always boasts a roster of celebrity comedians.
Author's Most Memorable Moment
During our stay, my husband and I had a cocktail at Broadway 49 almost every night. The staff is impeccable, efficient and very attractive. Our favorite bartender gave us the skinny on the "real" New York, which allowed us to see a lot of hidden treasures that we normally wouldn't be able to find.
