The entrance to Busch Gardens Williamsburg
Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, Virginia, is a theme park built around the cultures of
Europe, where America's first settlers came from. Not only are there plenty of amusement park rides, but there are also streets lined with European food, music and crafts. When you want to rest your feet, you can take in some shows throughout the day. The best part about visiting Busch Gardens is the park staff. It is my experience that they are the friendliest staff of any amusement park.
Features
Clydesdale at Busch Gardens Williamsburg
Besides the rides and entertainment, this park has two features that set it apart. It has picnic areas in all of the parking lots. Families that want to save money can leave the park at mealtime and use the picnic tables, then re-enter the park at no additional charge. The second unusual feature is pet sitting. If you park in the England parking lot, you can pay a few dollars for your pet to be taken care of for a few hours or all day. Busch Gardens Williamsburg is also home to the Griffon, a thrilling roller coaster that pulls you all the way to the top, rolls you over the precipice, and then stays there for a moment while you look straight down at the ground below you.
Pros and Cons
Busch Gardens
The park contains more rides that adults and teenagers would enjoy than rides for smaller children. Smaller children may also not be interested in European culture. The park does, however, have a section for children who love "Sesame Street." In the Sesame Street Forest of Fun, children can meet some of their favorite characters, watch a 4-D movie and play on a playground. There is also a Jack Hanna exhibit for adults and children who enjoy animals. Older children will get a useful history lesson about their country's heritage just by visiting Busch Gardens Williamsburg. A train comes to the rescue of tired feet, and guests may ride it to various sections of the park.
Bottom Line
Busch Garden's train
This park is great for those who appreciate history and love roller coasters. The ticket prices are what you would expect to pay for an amusement park, but the parking fees are high. You can save $2 on parking if you book a parking ticket online. You can also find coupon deals on grocery products in the summertime. The park has designated smoking sections outdoors, which is fine if you are a smoker. Smoke travels, however, and non-smokers will occasionally be breathing in smoke. If you can stand that, you are sure to have a good time enjoying a unique European experience.
