Spring Valley,
New York was originally established in 1902 and is just five miles north of the New Jersey border and 22 miles north of Manhattan. Local attractions include the Holocaust Museum & Study Center and St. Paul's Episcopal Church that was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2008. In addition to local shopping and other destinations, there are several restaurants in Spring Valley that provide patrons with a variety of fare.
Caribreeze Vegetarian Cafe
The Caribreeze Vegetarian Café is not only a restaurant, but also a distributor of wholesale Caribbean food and products, such as ginger log candy, iris sea moss with soy milk and Rootsman drink. This eatery specializes in vegetarian cuisine made with soy protein. In addition to vegetarian fare, this establishment also serves Rastafarian dishes. This unassuming store front restaurant is moderately priced lunches and dinners every day except Sundays. A few of the entrée items prepared by chef Tony Monroe include vegan lasagna that is prepared with no eggs or dairy, vegetarian ginger chicken, marinated curry chunks and vegetarian minced meat.

Portuguese Churrasqueira
Portuguese Churrasqueira specializes in serving authentic Portuguese barbeque. This restaurant is opened everyday and has take-out, catering and delivery services. This quaint location has wood paneling and furnishings throughout the dining room with a small, full bar in the corner. In addition to the full liquor bar, there is also a coffee, espresso and cappuccino bar. One of the dining features here is the roast suckling pig that is prepared and served on Saturdays. In addition to barbecue, dinner entrees, such as pork cubes with shrimp, grilled prawns in a spicy sauce and chicken breast with mushrooms, are also served.

Viet Nam Restaurant
Viet Nam Restaurant has been serving a fusion of traditional and modern Vietnamese fare to the Spring Valley area for over 10 years. Lunch and dinner are served here seven days a week and all dishes on the menu are affordably priced. The menu includes a host of noodle soups, appetizers, seafood, rice dishes, fired rice and stir fried noodle dishes. House specialties include grilled lemongrass beef, sautéed sticky rice, and Saigon baguette which is comprised of thin slices of Vietnamese-style pork roll and ham, fresh cilantro, cucumber, other vegetables and Vietnamese mayonnaise.
