San Francisco's financial district offers restaurants that specialize in breakfast and lunch.
San Francisco's Financial District is home to blue-chip corporations and is a center of international commerce. It's not generally known, however, for its restaurant fare. Virtually abandoned after business hours, much of the eateries in the Financial District cater to the breakfast and lunch rushes of the business suit crowd. Nevertheless, discriminating diners are not left wanting for fine cuisine in this upscale niche of the already classy city by the Bay.
Bix
Summoning the spirit of a roaring '20s speakeasy, Bix is as much about looking good and having fun in an enjoyable atmosphere as it is about delicious food and top-shelf drinks. Grab a cocktail from the "Bixology" guide to the good life and enjoy the live music in its two-story art deco dining room. Feeling casual? Bix's idea of a cheeseburger: pecorino with truffles served on buttered rye. Or, for a more upscale mood, order the angus steak tartare prepared at your table.

B44
B44 Catalan Bistro, one of several top-notch establishments on Belden Place, is the creation of former jazz saxophonist and Spanish native Daniel Olivella. Taking Catalan cuisine far beyond just tapas, Olivella serves up Spanish ingredients like oxtail, Serrano ham, morcilla sausage, quince paste and white beans with a modern California flair and sensibility. While B44 is known for its seafood and paella, a handful of high quality pork, chicken and rabbit dishes round out a spirited, refreshing and delicious menu.
