In southeastern
New York, the quaint town of Pawling is situated at the foothills of Berkshire Mountains. There are more than 300 acres of parkland, numerous tennis courts and a couple of fishing lakes nestled throughout the community. Pawling is also home to the oldest public golf course in the
United States, the nine-hole Dutcher Golf Course. This small town has diverse restaurants to sample after a fun-filled day of activities. Consider some of the Italian restaurants around the Pawling area.
II Continori Restaurante
In the center of Wappingers Falls is II Continori Restaurante, about 30 minutes from Pawling. This Dutchess County restaurant serves traditional Italian cuisine. Located in an old brick building spanning two storefronts, II Continori Restaurante has interior cream walls, tin molding, old-fashion accents and red exposed bricks. The menu has Italian pasta, steaks and seafood. Try the baby pasta shells with sea scallops, lobster with hot basil sauce or vitello Marsala. In addition, select a sparkling, white, red or rose wine to complement your dish.

Cappuccino, located in Poughkeepsie, is approximately 30 minutes from Pawling. For more than 30 years, this family-owned restaurant has served the community with Italian cuisine. Located on Route 22 in Pawling is Graziella's Trattoria. This restaurant is open seven days a week. The ingredients are freshly selected every day. Amici's
Hudson Valley is home to the Italian Amici's located in Poughkeepsie, about 30 minutes from Pawling. Amici's has hardwood flooring, tan walls and crisp white linens cover the tables. Also, there is a Goomba lounge and full bar area downstairs. For lunch or dinner, start your meal with Amici meatball sliders or fried calamari. Veal picatta and chicken Francaise are among the entrees.
