Old Town Alexandria in Virginia dates back to 1749. With its colonial buildings, art galleries and antique shops, the Old Town is a destination for tourists and locals. Some of the best Old Town restaurants serve high-quality European cuisines.
Restaurant Eve
Located in the heart of Old Town Alexandria, just five blocks from the Potomac River, Restaurant Eve is a relative newcomer to the scene. The Irish-born chef offers regional American and global cuisine made with locally sourced ingredients in a comfortable setting. The restaurant has a lounge bar, a tasting room, a bistro and a private party room. The tasting room menu features five- and nine-course meals and the main bistro menu features appetizers and entrees, including Maryland crab cakes, papri chat, and pan-fried veal sweetbreads. The restaurant serves both lunch and dinner.

Le Refuge
Conveniently located on Washington Street near King Street, Le Refuge has been serving country-fresh French cuisine since 1976. In addition to its normal lunch menu, the restaurant has a special three-course lunch menu that offers soup or salad, a meat entree and a dessert. The dinner menu includes items such as foie de veau Lyonnaise (calf liver sauteed with onions) and saumon en croute (salmon in a crust with vegetables).

Dinner entrees are sold a la carte and include such delicacies as roasted duck, roasted buffalo strip steak and veal tenderloin.
