Alexandria is a small city in South Dakota located approximately 30 miles west of Sioux Falls and 200 miles east of Rapid City. Whether Alexandria is your final destination or you are traveling to Rapid City to see Mount Rushmore or to Sioux Falls, you will see that there are a variety of restaurants to eat at without having to exit Alexandria.
Joe's Restaurant
The casual, family-friendly Joe's Restaurant is located in the heart of Alexandria and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday of the week. Classic American cuisine can be found on the menu, including meatloaf, roast beef, chicken fried steak and oven fried chicken. Children can order from the children's menu that features kid-friendly foods, including macaroni and cheese, spaghetti and meatballs and hot dogs.

China Buffet
China Buffet is located a short 20-minute drive from Alexandria and is open daily for lunch and dinner. Chicken fried rice, won ton soup, egg drop soup, teriyaki chicken, sweet and sour beef and shrimp egg foo young are regarded as house specialties and are available on both the lunch and dinner buffets. Crab legs, pizza and grilled steak area available only on the dinner buffet. Other items on the buffets vary daily.

Los Sombreros Mexican Restaurant
Los Sombreros Mexican Restaurant is a casual restaurant located approximately 20 minutes from Alexandria by car. The restaurant serves a variety of authentic Mexican meals, though its house specialties include chimichanga, enchiladas, burritos and tacos. A children's menu is available, featuring foods that typically appeal to children, including nachos, pizza and hot dogs. Though not required, it is best to make a reservation if you plan on dining here on a Friday or Saturday evening to avoid having to wait to be seated.
