Dine in the prestigious Fordham area of the Bronx.
Located in the western Bronx in
New York, Fordham is home to a prestigious university of the same name. If you are visiting the area, there are several attractions. The world famous Bronx Zoo is partially situated in Fordham, as well as the New York Botanical Garden. It is a historic area, with buildings from the Colonial era still standing, as well as the home that Edgar Allen Poe last occupied. There are also several restaurants around the area in which you can enjoy dining.
Mario's Restaurant
Mario's is located in the "Little Italy" section of the Bronx, near the Fordham neighborhood. Here, authentic Italian cuisine is served in a welcoming environment. Appetizers options include stuffed peppers, escargot and antipasto. Choose from one of the variety of pasta dishes, which include spaghetti with lobster sauce and manicotti. Shrimp marinara, Alaskan king crab oregnate and broiled lobster tail are some of the fresh seafood options. Other entrees include veal rollatine, steak pizzailo and broccoli parmigiana.

Umberto's Clam House serves fresh, Italian-style seafood in a family friendly atmosphere. Begin with an order of grilled octopus or shrimp cocktail. Soup options include lobster bisque and Manhattan clam chowder. For an entree, opt for a whole steamed lobster, scungilli, fish and chips or shrimp scampi. There is an array of pasta dishes, such as pesto farfalle and home-made lasagna. If you don't like seafood, you can choose one of the other meat dishes, such as chicken marsala or pork chops. At Trattoria Zero Otto Nove, you will dine on fresh-made brick oven pizza, as well as other Italian dishes. For lunch, begin with an order of calamari or antipasto. Pizzas include Margherita and Napolitana. Other meal options include chicken Capricciosa, a hanger steak and baked cod fish.
