New York, is ideally located near New York's scenic Lake George Area, and the hustle and bustle of Albany and Saratoga. Residents of this community of 36,000 (population provided by City-data.com), as well as travelers, will find many amenities in Clifton Park, including an impressive array of more than 100 restaurants. Regional and national chains and local eateries dot the landscape, with menus that feature an eclectic mix of cuisines, including Italian, Mexican, Chinese, Japanese and American. Several of the newest restaurants are highlighted here.
Pasta Pane

Pasta Pane opened in February 2010, offering Italian fare in a casual bistro setting. Pasta Pane is owned and operated by Saratoga Springs, New York restaurateur David Zecchini, who is known in the Saratoga Springs area for his restaurants Chianti and Forno Bistro. Zecchini's wife, Roslyn, is chef at Pasta Pane.
The restaurant's menu features Italian favorites such as antipasto, pizza and pasta, as well as steak.
Zecchini remodeled a former Applebee's location for Pasta Pane, with some impressive photos featured in the Times Union's "Table Hopping" blog by Steve Barnes. As of February 2010, the 120-seat restaurant is open for dinner only, opening at 5 p.m. daily and closing at 9 p.m. on Sundays, 9:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 10:30 p.m. on Saturdays. Reservations are not accepted.

Getaway Ice Cream Bar
The Getaway Ice Cream Bar offers a full menu of sandwiches and ice cream.
Offering the amenities of a favorite sports bar, without the alcohol, the Getaway Ice Cream Bar in Clifton Park opened in October 2009, catering to teens and families. The Getaway offers a classic sandwich shop menu, with burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches and other finger foods, and ice cream to round out the meal. A full breakfast menu with eggs, pancakes, French toast and waffles is available every day, with a breakfast buffet on the weekends.
The décor features photos, jerseys and other memorabilia from area high schools. Rounding out the amenities are a jukebox, Wi-Fi Internet service and video games, as well as flat-screen TVs to catch the big game. Karaoke and live bands are offered on weekends.

Wheatfields Bistro and Wine Bar
Wheatfields offers pizza, pasta and other fare at their new bistro in Clifton Park.
Italian fare is on the menu at the high-end Wheatfields Bistro and Wine Bar. The menu features some 20 different handmade pastas, as well as pizza, steaks and seafood. The menu also has salads, antipasti and appetizers, and the kitchen will prepare gluten-free pizza and pasta by request. The wine side of the house features 40 different wines by the glass.
Open since October 2009 for lunch and dinner daily, hours for the dining room are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The bar and pizza kitchen are open 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Sunday, Wheatfields is open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. The bistro seats 175.
The restaurant also offers catering for special events.
