Located on Kalakaua Avenue directly across from the beach, most rooms have a partial ocean view and some have stunning views of Diamond Head to the east. The amenities are up to date, including a mini-bar in each room and room service.
Wows and Woes
This hotel has terrific prices for a place with a view, with rooms starting at $119 per night.
Kalakaua Avenue is the heart of Waikiki and gets very loud at night, especially out on the balcony when you're attempting a scenic view.
Insider Tips
Skip the Tiki Bar Restaurant and walk down to Keo's on the west end of Kalakaua, where you'll get the best in tropical and Thai cuisine.
Author's Most Memorable Moment
Sometimes loud noises can be pleasing to the ears. Most nights at this hotel were just filled with noisy drunks who partied too hard in Waikiki. But one night I walked out to my private lanai and below at The Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center were Hawaiian singers and hula dancers performing under the sunset. Wow!

This hotel has a top location with ocean views and the rates are worth a visit.
