Requirements for a Quick Wedding in Las Vegas
Las Vegas has long been known as the premier destination for quick weddings; according to the 2000 U.S. Census Bureau, there were 144,300 weddings performed in 2000 in Nevada. Whether you wish to be married by an Elvis impersonator or in a helicopter, in Las Vegas you can make your dream come true. The legal requirements for a quick wedding in Vegas are simple, and there is no waiting period or blood test needed to obtain your license.
Identification

Both persons must present identification when filling out the marriage license form. Accepted forms of identification are a state driver's license or ID card, a foreign government issued identification card or a driver's license that includes a birth date, a military ID card (member or dependent), a certificate of citizenship or naturalization, a permanent or temporary resident card, a Matricula Consular card, a voter ID card (with birth date) or a birth certificate with another form of photo ID. Both applicants must also have a Social Security number.

Age and Sex

Both applicants must be at least 18 years of age, must be a female and a male, must not have a living spouse and must not be related closer than second cousins.

Minor Applicants

Applicants that are 16 or 17 years old must have the consent of their parent or guardian and a certified copy of their birth certificate (or original). The consenting parent must show acceptable identification to prove he is the parent; a legal guardian must show a certified copy of the court issued guardianship order.

If the parent or guardian is not present, the minor applicant must show a notarized statement with the minor's full name, parent's full name, relationship, birth date and a statement of consent that the child may marry. The legal document must be in English; a document translated by a notary is acceptable.

Divorced Applicants

An applicant who is divorced must provide the month, day and year on which the divorce decree was granted as well as the city and state in which the divorce decree was granted.

Fees

As of 2009, the fee for a marriage license was $60 and only cash was allowed as payment. Note that many couples find they need additional copies of their marriage license, and it is more economical to purchase these from the Clark County Clerk at the time the original license is granted.
