Maine is known as "vacationland," and York
beach is one of its most popular vacation spots. It's easy to see why; there is an array of activities from the shopping at the Kittery outlets to nearby boating and golf opportunities. It also is about an hour from

The historic Union Bluff Hotel was established in 1868 and still retains the allure of days gone by. Located on Short Sands Beach, the hotel is the classic picture of a New England hotel with its white wooden balconies and sparse, yet cozy, guest rooms. Dining options include the renovated Union Grill and the Bluff Pub. The Union Grill provides a fine-dining atmosphere with a menu that includes lobster ravioli, pan-seared diver scallops and filet mignon. The pub is the more casual option with burgers, soups and sandwiches served daily. The hotel prides itself on using fresh produce that's locally grown.
