The Denton County Historical Museum, Inc. and Texas Heritage Center is one of the best values in Texas. Admission is free. The museum consists of vintage photographs, maps, documents and artifacts that tell the story of Denton County from the beginnings through the 1950s. You will learn about the early history of the farms and ranches, schools and local businesses.

Fort Worth Museum of Science and History

The Fort Worth Museum of Science and History has an I-Max theater, virtual reality activities and special hands on activities for the kids such as the Cowgirl Experience and Living in Space, an activity based on living at the Space Station.

The Dallas World Aquarium

The Dallas World Aquarium has feeding open to the public from 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and is a part of the Dallas Zoo. The exhibits include a 3-foot Goliath grouper, squirrelfish, Green moray eels, lionfish and bottom dwelling Bamboo sharks, all part of the Predator exhibit. The Continental Shelf Exhibit is a recreated reef that is home to species such as tangs, wrasses, butterflyfish and angelfish. The other exhibit is about coutries of the South Pacific and includes Leafy and Weedy seadragons, Spectacled angelfish, clownfish and others.

Southfork Ranch

Southfork Ranch was the filming location for the TV show Dallas. The ranch is open for tours which include tours of the mansion where you can see the gun that shot J.R. Lucy's Wedding Dress, the "Dallas" Family Tree, and Jock's Lincoln Continental. To get to the mansion, you take a tram from the visitor's center and on the way your guide will tell you the history of the ranch.
