Palm Springs became a famous haunt for movie stars back when their contracts required them to be within a certain vicinity of the movie studio. Nowadays, it's an ideal place for a
family vacation as well as a terrific retirement location. While summers can be very hot, winters are mild and sunny. Regardless of when you travel, it's best to find a hotel that is conducive to a family trip.
JW Marriott Desert Springs
The eight-story atrium lobby includes a Starbucks (critical for most families) and flamboyant birds as well as a water taxi service that will give you a tour of the large resort or take you to any of the five restaurants on site. The pools are enormous, with four large heated pools. You'll also find a putting green right next to the hotel as well as two 18-hole golf courses. The children will enjoy the Mikado Japanese Steakhouse's style of cooking. It's not only delicious, it's entertaining as it's cooked right in front of you. The hotel includes a kids' club for children between 4 and 12 that engages the children with crafts and outdoor activities if parents need time on the tennis court or at the spa or golf course.
