What Are Orlando, Florida Hotels With Kids' Camps?
Choosing the right hotel for your
family vacation can mean the difference between a vacation to remember and a vacation to endure.
Orlando, Florida, is a popular vacation choice for families due to the year-round sunshine and many attractions nearby. There are dozens of hotels in Orlando that cater to families, and most of them offer kids' camps so that the parents can spend some time enjoying adult activities while their children enjoy activities catered to their age group. Below are the top choices for hotels in Orlando that are kid-friendly. Note that most, if not all, of the hotels charge a separate fee for their kids' camps.
Nickelodeon Family Suites
The Nickelodeon Family Suites gets rave reviews from expert reviewers and hotel patrons both. With an elaborate system of pools and water slides, a spa just for kids, a multi-million dollar theater with live performances, an arcade and mini-golf park and more, your children will not want to leave the hotel. Nickelodeon's kids' camp, called "Nick After Dark," is unique in that it is offered in conjunction with adult activities. The fee for the camp includes tickets for the parents to enjoy a show at the comedy club, a dinner and a movie, or an upscale dinner out at one of two award-winning restaurants. See the link below for more information.
Disney World Resort Hotels
All of the Disney World resort hotels offer kids' camps and some offer separate baby-sitting services as well. The activity centers are geared for children ages 4 to 12 and are offered during the hours of 4:30 to 10:00 pm. The cost is $11 per hour and reservations should be made well in advance.
Activities include video and computer games, age-appropriate toys, Disney movies, group games, and more. The price includes dinner and one snack. See the link below for more information.
Universal's Hard Rock Hotel
This hotel is a great choice for families with older children or teens, although the kids' camp does allow children as young as 4 years of age. The hotel is one of the few that allows (and even pampers) the family pet to stay with the family. In addition, there is a huge, 12,000-square foot swimming pool that features a sandy beach, fountains and a water slide.
The camp's name is "Camp 'Lil Rock," and it features a huge clubhouse with a big- screen television, an outdoor playground and many planned activities, including karaoke, video and board games, crafts, movies and organized group games. The camp costs $12 per hour and is for children ages 4 to 14. It is open from 5:00 to 11:30 (midnight on Fridays and Saturdays).
Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Resort
The Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress offers unique kids' camps in that they are specialized by activity. The resort offers a 4-day summer tennis academy (ages 8 to 16 and 12 1/2 hours of instruction for $75 dollars), a week of horseback riding lessons (cost varies by skill and age level) and a week of golf instruction (between $390 and $495 for the week). The hotel also offers a traditional kids' camp with video games, arts and crafts, and organized activities, including bike rides.
In addition, the hotel features a magnificent 800,000-gallon swimming pool that features 12 waterfalls, two water slides, a rope bridge, and a huge sandy beach.
